Some of you guys are acting like it's some kind of fluke or that the PS4 got lucky. Go look at PS2.... Most of it's hardware sales were sold in it's first half of the console lifespan and not after it had a massive game library. Why is that? Not many people buy a console for it's starting line up. They pick a console based on the console's game history and what kind of games are typically on that brand of console. Also, a lot of gamers are aware of the games that were announced and have a long list of games they want. Sony has many exclusives that haven't been released yet. It takes a long time for any console to build up a decent library. The console gens always start off slow and takes a bit of time for a steady stream of games to be released. |
True dat, i bought the PS4 on launch day and i wasnt interested in any 1st party games being released on launch, but i knew they would get games that i liked, (just like any other F#cking generation) and now im literally playing the succesor to Demons Souls (my favorite PS3 game and my second favorite game of all time) on the PS4, and there are already plenty of exclusive Japanese 3rd party games (that i want) coming for it this year like Persona 5, Disgaea 5, Neptunia VII and thats not counting the upcoming exclusives from the first party studios like Uncharted 4, Gow 4 and Horizon (which i do belive will be announced in E3, and i cant wait for those robodinos).
every single generation my favorite game has been a exclusive NEW Ip, (for 4 generations in a row) so i have no problem in buying a PS Console because i know (based on history) that it will have games that i will love, and most of those games will end up being new IPs (just look at the PS3 and the ammount of awesome exclusive NEW IPs it had).
Sonys consoles are like wine since they only get better with time (look at the ammount of games sony released for the PS3 in its last years... the thing got like 20 exclusives in 2013, the same year the PS4 released), buying a PS4 is an investment that pays off in time just like any other PS console has done before, and they will get supported years after the next gen begins.
