They did nail it, but not entirely in the way this article words it. MS messed up trying to force things on consumers, such as the kinect and DRM. Sure, the TV stuff was quite dumb, but not nearly as awful as the 2 I mentioned. And Sony took full advantage of that. MS basically rolled down its pants and let Sony at it. Boy did they....
I think if MS didn't do either of those things, I think the race would be a little more different. Sony would still win though. MS never really has a chance currently.
