Mario Kart 8's DLC didn't come along right after the game was released. It took months and in some cases, almost a year. So most people who are buying it have been playing the game for some time now. Also, it actually is a good value for what you're getting. Besides, even if you choose not to get any of the DLC, the game by itself is still worth the full price. And that's the key here. You shouldn't have to pay full price for a game and then pay an extra $40 to feel like you're getting the full experience. It's not "value" I have a problem with. It's the actual concept of selling any content for a game after a full-priced retail release. As for Jim Sterling, a lot of people complain about his negitivity but the things he talks about are true. It may be an inconveinient truth to some, but it's truth nonetheless. Besides, it's mostly his Jimquisition section that talks about this stuff. He does do other things. Mostly the other things are picking up Steam games someone made in 5mins and spending more effort critiquing them than the creator spent making it. I don't really see the point; telling us how bad these are won't stop bored people making half finished demos. |
