Hmm, never really thought about this much. Mainly because I don't think hunting as an issue in the UK. Sure we hunt but it's all managed. Strict gun laws means you can't shoot anything without a licence. Hunting is banned in general but certain things do occur. For one, there is 'Game', this is population controlled bird like pheasant or partridge, which are then 'hunted'.
Yet, if it's a farmer protecting his crops or live stock, then I have no issues, then it's not like are killing anything more than a few blackbirds, foxes or maybe badgers.
... hmm, I'd say, yes, hunting birds should be banned. Human kind has done enough damage to bird through killing fish livestocks, taking away habitat, poaching and killing bird of prey for sport. I think the only time it should be allow is 'game' hunting which is managed and controlled anyway.
