Bullshit.  Some of my favorite teams in football, basketball, and hockey have been defensive teams.  A great defensive play takes just as much work and skill as a great offensive play.  For people who actually watch and understand, defense is interesting.  For those who chat with their friends until they can go, "yay, someone scored, yay," it's a different story, I suppose, but I don't give a rat's ass about them.  

Nope, that's bullshit. There are plenty of pundits, commentators, players & coaches within various sports that consider defence boring. So it's not about 'actually watching and understanding'. It's just that most people don't like it, you are the exception not the rule.


Never heard people chanting "offense" in a sports game. Its common knowledge that defense wins games. Keeping your opponent from scoring is just as if not more important than scoring.
