Anybody dismissing it on the long term is either in grave clinical denial (hint you should get that checked) or severely blind (you should get that checked too).... |
Nobody is dismissing the future potential.
It would be awesome to sit around a table with your friends from all over the world and play some board games. Both game and people not in the room represented by holograms. That's still a long way away. Even the vision MS is currently presenting is a futuristic vision, same thing MS did with Kinect.
The current product is a bit of a gimmick when it comes to gaming, same as Kinect. Sure it will work, yet in limited ways and won't revolutionize the way we play games. No air travel yet.
VR on the otherhand is already widely used by games.
