Now Doubt PS3 is a power house , it's late start in the momentum stakes has extended it's life if anything. It's that little bit better tech wise then the 360 when programmed right and being Bluray ,it means no Multiple disc games like for some 360 titles.

I actually have two fat PS3, both i bought used ,( I'm not a big Sony fan and always buy their consoles last) Of course my 60GB PS3 Fat is a wonderful machine which plays all my Playstation software, I bought Legend of Kay on PS2 the other day and on PS3 it just looks that much better.

Now Wii U , we all know Nintendo messed up on advertising the console . Yes there was a Game drought just after launch. But it's backward compatibility with Wii is a big bonus ,it uses all the controllers. and a massive games library from Wii at your fingertips , many for as little as £2 used.

The Wii U is a top notch unit , i love the gamepad and off TV play , something many critisise ,but most of whom have never had one.

The Titles on Wii U at the moment are stupendous ( i think that's the right word) From MK8 ,3d World,Pikmin 3 , Hyrule Warriors, are all high quality titles. And we have more coming with Splatoon, ''X'' and Yoshi .

As a gamer i think if you don't have a Wii U then your missing out on some of the most important games of the last two years. And OK Wii U may be short on Third party. but it looks like it may be trickling back, with Guitar Hero Live,Rodea the Sky Soldier,Legend of Kay Anniversary,Mighty No 9, and the so on.

We always get the Lego games, we have the Lego Dimensions to look forward to. And Activision have stated that Wii U games are coming.

At the Moment the Wii U has more worthwhile purchases then the two rivals in the 8th gen race.

As to whether consoles should be killed of the minute the new one is released i would say NO.

I think if Sega had supported the Saturn a bit longer , a lot of games where in development to be released and keeping the owners happy would have secured their loyalty for the transition to Dreamcast. Especially in Japan where the Saturn was a big seller and the Dreamcast had a bad launch due to Sega rushing out the system in the region in 1998.

Nintendo stopped caring for the Wii around 2010, so not much more then fodder came out for the system after that.In a way they let their user base down, and may have payed the price when those users did not go for Wii U like they did Wii.

I hope Nintendo stick with Wii U for a while ,they need to support it to a five year term by releasing games for it as they have done . This way the numbers will increase. If they cut us off and launch another system for the home to soon, they may lose a big chunk of the userbase they have now for home consoles and that would be disastrous for them. And the thing is they can afford to do it ,they have money in the bank and a good selling handheld.

Sony are rubbing their hands, they know eventually all those PS3 owners will walk over to PS4 , by supporting the aging system they keep their fanbase, I still have a couple of games i want on PS3 ,Like Mortal Kombat X and Sega Anime fighter ,Denko something or other that's coming ,i just can not remember the complicated name.

And of Course the next in the Yakuza series..

As to where my gaming trends will take me i know not, i play most styles of games, but am a big arcade game fan. Something we lack sorely now , Sega how we miss you..
