I personally believe that when a game gets too popular on Kickstarter, the devs have way too much pressure on their hands, so the game could get delayed and delayed and delayed until who knows what happens. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but has their been a truly successful Kickstarter game? Never paid to much attention to Mighty No. 9 so that could be one (but that hasn't released yet right? is there an official release date?), the other I can think of was that one from Double Fine (can't remember the name), but Part 2 hasn't even been released...and I think Double Fine said the expectations were too high and the game suffered from that, that's what I remember at least. |
Pillars of Eternity, Shovel Knight and Divinity: Original Sin are good examples.
