It's not a good guess. Pachter just took USA numbers, doubled them, and said "yeah, that should work, why not".
There's no way USA is 50% of GTA sales, I'd put USA sales at 35%-ish of the total, it's much more realistic.
That would mean about 5.25m WW. With PS4 being about 2/3 of that, so 3.5m on PS4.
VGC has it at 3.9m, for the record.
