The problem is that the story was pretty standard in the Order 1886, there were no real game changer or anything like that which blows you away. There are a lot of games who havent that great gameplay too but the story or story telling makes up for it. See silent hill 2, MGS 2, the Last of Us or Shadow of Memories.
Shadow of Memories pretty much is a 3D adventure, no real gameplay but one of the best storylines today.
