If I'm not mistaken, tensions between Kojima and Konami aren't anything new.
Maybe he saw it coming. It's kind of a stretch, as you said, but it makes sense. We all know how smart Kojima can be when it comes to giving clues to his fans.
Let's hope he'll be bringing some nice "new toys"
