Splatoon has more potential but Xenoblade is the safer bet.
Splatoon is one of those game like Wonderful 101 that I thought would do well with its audience, but ultimately you never know whether people are interested on going out on a limb with these new experience. X being a big budget JRPG secures that audience and theres no confusion there.
