Heya, Cloudman here. Recently I joined the ranks of the SEGABASE (Started by KyleeStrutt) , a group of people who really like Sega and their consoles/games ranging from their early days to the current times! Now, I may be a big Nintendo fan, but back then, I was also a really big Sega fan. I may have even started as one first rather than Ninten. The Sega Genesis was the first system that was my own, and I really loved some of the games on it, the biggest one being Sonic. Sonic also was my favorite video game character for a long time during the Genesis days. He still is up there, but of course I`d built a great appreciation for other characters, like Knuckles, Tails, Mario, Bomberman, and other big or small characters! : )
Anyway, despite Sega`s weird ups and downs throughout the years, I still have a great appreciation for Sega and their contributions to the industry, from their wonderful consoles to their excellent games! So to celebrate Sega`s work, I want to start off with something simple, Sega games! Which ones are your favorites and what sort of fond memories are tied to those games? : ) The games can be ones present on Sega consoles, developed by Sega, or produced by Sega. I say that last one because a few I list I did play on other consoles but are still tied to Sega.
So these are just mine. Feel free to add in whatever games you have fond memories of.

Sonic 2
Oh course you can`t have a Sega list without a Sonic game, but which one?! I`ve debated several times with myself over which Sonic game I liked the most. Now, there are many of his games I like, such as Sonic, Sonic 3, Sonic CD, and the Adventure series, but I think the one I like the most is Sonic 2, and I`m not quite so sure either. I think I really enjoy games in which you can play and blaze through, such as short platformers, to a point of mastery, such as Mega Man, Mario, and of course, Sonic. Sonic 3 and CD are also great games, but require more time to complete and have more objectives to cover, such as finding giant rings or traveling through the past and future to search for machines to destroy. I like the simpler feel of Sonic 2, where you just go fast and get the 7 chaos emeralds. By the 3rd or 4th stage, you could potentially become Super Sonic, which is awesome : ) Also, the stages are great, such as Casino Night, Hill Top, Oil Ocean, and largely popular Chemical Plant Zone. : ) So yeah... Sonic 2!!!

Ristar - "Play with me? : )"
Next up is Ristar, a game that was made for the Genesis which starred a star character whose goal is to save the people of the galaxy from the villain, Greedy, and restore peace to the world, or save his father who was kidnapped, depending on what version you play... Anyways, as Ristar, your task is to go from point A to B, beating as many baddies as you can by basing them... with your FACE! You grab them with your stretchy arms and pull them into you, killing them on impact! Now that`s using your head... ; ) Similar to Sonic in several ways, you play through 2 zones and fight a boss at the end. You traverse through different worlds, from a forest level to a water world, and even a music world!!! The variety is really great : ) Also, the music is awesome! Their songs are cheerful and upbeat tunes which can bring a smile to anyone that plays. Also, Ristar himself is a great and cute character, even having great idle animations like Sonic, but even cuter!

Aw, look at that cute snowman... : )

NiGHTS Into Dreams...
Unfortunately, I never owned a Saturn, so I missed out on this. But this was a game I wish I was able to play back then. That cool design, the lovely colors, and the idea of traversing through dreams really fascinated. When a sequel was released, I knew I had to get it, and I`m glad I did. The NiGHTS games are interesting games where, as NiGHTS, you flying on a 2D plane, going through rings trying to get as many points as you can by going through a chain of rings and getting blue orbs. Once you gained enough points and return to the Ideya Palace, you complete the stage and get a rank, from F to A. There are other modes present, such as trying to get as long of a chain going as possible and various challenges linked to the particular stage. The great thing about NiGHTS, at least from my experience from Journey of Dreams, are the levels and music. NiGHTS has some of the best designed levels in any game, with bright, colorful cities, a forest and castle from a fairy tale, and even beautiful beaches. The game certainly feels like you`re soaring through dreams. And the music... : ) It`s like listening to a live orchestrated performance, but in a game! Another fine game made by the Sega team... : )

Monster World IV
Now here`s an odd choice. Monster World IV was a game released on the Mega Drive, but only in Japan. The rest of the world didn`t get to enjoy this game until much later on on the Wii, PS3, and Xbox 360. I played this on the PS3, and despite it being a really old game, I really enjoyed it. The visuals are great, the music is good, and I like the main character. You play as Asha, a young girl who embarks on a journey to aid spirits. Along the way, you meet a small creature, who is not only cute, but helps you advance through the game, such as a double jump, a shield, and a platform. Overall, the game is a standard platformer, but I really enjoyed it and the game quickly became a favorite of mine : )
So I`ll end it hear. There are many other games I can talk about, but at this rate, this can go on forever. Maybe some of you will mention the ones I couldn`t : ) Well, feel free to share any fond memories you had with Sega, and thanks for reading! : )
