"M rated" media usually is filled with stuff that speak to/of the dark side of human existence, that can be implemented in a very juvenile and brain dead way, but it can also be made in a tasteful and enrichening way
games more often than not tend to the former, yet sometimes there are games that use darker themes in a mature way
