I strongly disagree. The plot is ridiculously convoluted (which some people confuse for "deep"), the pacing is terrible, and the acting is atrocious.

Ask yourself this: If The Patriots were introduced to you in a movie or novel, would you roll your eyes at the ridiculous nature of it all? If your answer is yes, why do you believe MGS has an excellent storyline? Think about it for a minute. The peripheral characters of the MGS series are unintentionally absurd and would be laughed at by everyone if they were presented in any format other than a videogame.

eh? The Patriots? There are still many things to know about them. And I think I've read many SF books with many ridiculous inventions to let such a thing as the Patriots impress me. I think it's an interesting concept, although I reiterate I still want some more information about this "primordial soup" that gave birth to this Artificial Intelligence. Seriously, after I played the whole series again (also finished MGS: PO just a while ago) and read a couple of "story summaries" in gamefaqs, the main thing that still makes me GRIND MY TEETH is Liquid's arm! Now that is some shit right there!
