Not exactly news worthy. There's plenty of games where you can play as a female. From the ones I own: Pokémon, Fire Emblem, Metroid, Captain Toad(ette), Super Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 8, Pikmin 3, Rayman Legends, Batman: Arkham City (Catwoman), Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (Dixie), Bayonetta 2, etc.
Welp, that's all my Wii U games except Wind Waker HD!
