Retrospectively for me Peace walker (Played only the PS3 version which is an incredible 60fps port) is one of the best MGS game I have played. the game mechanics in Peace walker are so good (you can build an entire base, recruit mercenaries, fulton (steal) stuff (including mercenaries) from any of your missions, improve you equipment that you can use in your next missions etc).

That worked so well in Peace walker than it's being fully used in The Phantom Pain which looks litterally like a Peace walker 2 in that aspect.

But yeah this is an incredible serie, except for MGS4 that I didn't like at all. Thankfully Ground Zeroes was completely different than MGS4 and was great, while it lasted. If each TPP missions are as good as Ground Zeroes's with Peace walker incredible mother base management stuff then this game will be the GOAT!

Really? I hated Peace Walker for a few reasons. One was it was level based and every level I played only took me 3-4 minutes to complete. The stealth mechanics were a joke, seriously once I figured it out I was running through all the guards. I even ran up behind and passed one guard and it didn't notice me. I might have been maybe a meter or so behind him and this happened many, many times. The third was the cutscenes, ugh I can't stand that comic book style cutscenes. I didn't mind it in InFamous though, but NOT EVER in Metal Gear Solid. I tried playing it on Xbox 360 and it was a no go for me, it was so easy I was bored within about 30 minutes of playing. I had a very poor experince while playing that game. :'(

I would never call Phantom Pain Peace Walker 2. The two games look nothing alike in any shape or form. Sure it has a few similar mechanics but the short levels, glitchy gameplay, graphic novel cutscenes, and the whole portable experience will not be in TPP. Not to mention The Phantom Pain is looking to be one LARGE map just like most of the games in the series.

Hmmm what was it about Metal Gear Solid 4 did you didn't like? That one is practically my favorite and I thought it had the best gameplay in the series to date. Something that Phantom Pain is looking to top. For me personally Metal Gear Solid 4 and Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (remake) are equally my favorite Metal Gear Solid games. They were perfect games imo, I loved Snake Eater as well. I definitely need to try Sons of Liberty again. plus for me it will ALWAYS be Solid Snake > Big Boss. After all Big Boss is a massive dick bag. I won't spoil anything but us hardcore fans know exactly what is going to happen near the end of The Phantom Pain. When Kojima said that this game is going to disgust people, he isn't lying. After all he said MGS4 will make gamers cry and damn did that ever happen to 90% of the fanbase! :)
