I don't really understand what the point of a Playstation laptop would be. It's not like it would do anything particularly special (aside from play Sony games, yes) but the amount of money and time invested into such a project would be pretty pointless in the grand scheme of things.

So, a neat idea perhaps but neither worthwhile nor practical in reality.

Whilst I've used a laptop for the example, I'm looking at the way Sony are now using the PS brand on a wider scale. All of Sony's services are now under that brand and with PSNow every defice Sony make that are capable of using broadband can legitimately carry the PS label: PSTV, PSPhone, PSLaptop, PSpad. The reason I decided on a laptop is because, to me, it brings up another interesting possibility. Sony are known for 'quality' but they're also known for being expensive compared to their rivals. 'Perhaps' Sony could retain that 'quality'/'price' strategy if they created a product that the middle to upper class could latch on to. Other devices (although a PSTV with a PS4 built in could also work in that regard), would rely entirely on PSNow to justify the PS branding.

And remember, even with a built in PS4 the laptop (or TV) would still be a viable delivery device for PSNow because Sony offer PS3 games through it and obviously a little later (perhaps a 3 year gap) they'll offer several high profile PS4 games.

The PS5 Exists.
