As I said in my post it will move some, but it's not the big system seller that you seem to believe it to be.
If past games in the series could increase hardware sales by hundreds of thousands you'd have a point, especially if it had some long standing effect for weeks after release (which doesn't happen), but looking at past entries in the series it's beem the fact that people already have an XBox that has sold so many copies of the game.
Best case scenario Halo 5 moves maybe an additional 50K XBox One's compared to the previous week, the game will no doubt sell at least 2 million units release week, but it's highly doubtful it'll do much more than that.
If MS bundles the game, with some other titles then that will help, but then that's not Halo 5 having the system selling effect by itself, it's just giving a new AAA release away with the platform.
This gen XBox doesn't have the 3rd party preference like it did last gen, which will surely have an effect on how numbers rise when Halo 5 comes out.

Sony had no major exclusive for 4th quarter last year and Microsoft outsold the PS4 with a price cut. If Halo 4 drops they will move consoles. This is the first Halo on the Xbox One. 360 gamers who are fans will be forced to jump ship. Just wait.

These are the numbers:
4th October 2014
PS4 11,903,468
XB1 6,050,362
3rd Jan 2015
PS4 18,724,800
XB1 10,981,041
Q4 2014 sales
PS4 : 6,821,332
XB1: 4,930,679
According to VG Driveclub sold 1.6M, Sunset Overdrive sold 780K, those were the only major exclusives on either platform last holiday.
MS had the marketing deals for things like COD, yet Sony still outsold Microsoft by 1,890,653, so almost 2 million units. You're also acting like Sony doesn't have a thing, for one thing they have all of the games that have come out throughout the whole year, plus they have a bunch of exclusives, one of which (Ratchet & Clank) has a major movie release in cinemas, which Sony will no doubt market the hell out of.
This year Sony has a lot more exclusives, those games that came out before the Fall will also be reduced in price compared to the new releases.
There's also the issue of Sony likely dropping the price of PS4 down to $299/£249, just as they have done with every other home console for their 1st major price cut.
Halo 3 was the 1st major Halo game on 360, the 1st Halo game since 2004, yet it still only pushed hardware sales up by about 67K, it's not going to have the huge effect you think it will.
