Yes, Playstation's A Team sells better than Nintendo's B Team. Who would've thought? Who do you think has the highest selling exclusive this gen? Ahh yes, that would be Nintendo, with New Super Mario Bros. U. And second? Yes, that would be Nintendo, with Mario Kart 8. I could continue the charade, or I could just tell you that Nintendo in fact have the 5 best selling exclusives of the gen before The Last of Us Remastered enters at 6th. What can I say, I'm used to Nintendo's hard-hitting exclusives selling quite a bit more than PS4's.
Splatoon - being a game that does not feature Mario - will not reach these heights. Nevertheless, it will acquire a very tidy attach rate comparable to the majority of PS4 exclusives.
