It does nothing that will convince those who didn’t enjoy the Souls games to join the love-in, and those who were fans of Miyazaki’s previous games but might have wanted something genuinely different this time around will be let down. But that’s clutching at straws – Bloodborne is an incredible game; tight in its mechanics, logical in its systems, rewarding, intense, gloriously frustrating and exciting in equal measure. The PS4 has its first absolutely essential game. As if there was ever any doubt.''
