I just wanted to add that I believe Sakurai is primarily referring to on-disc DLC and Day 1 DLC when it comes to DLC being a scam.
Keep in mind that all of these new characters and content including Mewtwo and Lucas are pretty post-development stuff,.
It's not like these characters were on-disc, and they made us pay just so they could milk more money out of us.
"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
