Why does graphics make the deciding factor anyway? The PS2 was the weakest system last gen, yet had all the major FFs. If you optimize the graphics, the Wii can produce very stunning visuals. The HD audience will be disappointed but the average gamer will not care. Personally the graphics between the best looking PS3 and Wii game will not persuade a developer to give away the amount of profit that will be made between releasing it on PS3 rather than Wii. |

I agree. Some of these Wii fanboys need to remember what Wada said himself. He clearly stated that he was going to care more about the international market more than the Japanese market (wordwide release, etc.). If FF XIII sells 6-8 mil. copies, I don't think they will change for their main series. With bundles worldwide and worldwide release on the same day, I don't see it being impossible. Most of the sales come from outside of Japan anyway. |
To sell 6 million copies, there needs to be an attach rate of about 50%. That means one of every two PS3 owners would buy it. Hopeful thinking much? FFX had sold about 8 million on a console with a userbase of more than 120 million. Hopeful much? |
TBH, if I respond to this post exactly how I would want to respond, I'll be banned. I'll be diplomatic. 1. You are assuming that the PS3 won't sell another unit between now and the time FF XIII comes out. It's about a year away, if not more. There will be more than 12m units by then. 2. Final Fantasy X did not come out yesterday. It came out when the install base was much less than 120 million. I think that's about all. |
final evangelion, final fantasy games sell mainly in japan, and right now many games that always made succes on ps2 in japan on ps3 was a bomb if you know that there is more than 2mln ps3s on the market(folklore, virtua figter 5, time crisis 4, ninja gaiden sigma, heavenly sword, eye of judgment not to mention imabikisou) and right now situation of final fantasy XIII and XIII versus is unclear. maybe they will succed like the other final fantasy games in a long run after end of this generation, but right now i don't think XII can sell few milion copies as fast as previous games if japan won't start actually buying ps3.
