Nah, it still has some ways to go before Texas is realistically in play.

if they nominate a right wing nutjob, they will lose the younger womens too. that brings Texas into play.

if they dont pick a moderate or a latino(even ted cruz) they will have a hard time in some red states (incl texas)

Texas likes their right wing nutjobs though, Ted Cruz is a Texas senator after all

they voted for bush junior too. but Cruz is a latino, and still didnt win by a lot. sure he will take texas, but other rightwinger will not.
