You're just repositioning the goal points so it would favor your favorite brand. 

Nope, just looking at the only thing companies care for: money. If I was truly repositioning my goal posts (not points) then I wouldn't say profit matters when PS4 looks set to make the most profit this gen. Which is what truly matters. Otherwise a company would give away free consoles to achieve the highest userbase and go bankrupt in a year.
