I think it has been numerous times, but Amazon isn't a reliable source for information period. Yet it never ceases to happen someone brings Amazon numbers onto these forums as if they were trustworthy. Somehow it never occurs to them that a retailer has no reason to espouse towards journalistic integrity. Basically they can lie if they want to, and apparently if you pay them well they will slide you a little product propaganda on the side. Article cited for future reference the next time someone plasters a Amazon list on this site like it might have any factual basis at all. I for one have always suspected that they always work some poor sellers into those lists to clear out their inventory on games that are not selling.

Those eagle-eyed lot over at Joystiq published a story late yesterday which claimed that online retailer Amazon was billing the PlayStation 3 version of Grand Theft Auto as 'the way the game is meant to be played'.

According to the retailer itself, said text was included in the description of the PS3 release because it was "a campaign paid for by Sony", adding that Microsoft would be "doing something similar next week."

Nevertheless, following the story's release, the description was changed to "Experience Grand Theft Auto IV on the PS3" - word for word, the same text used to promote the Xbox 360 version.
