I can't believe you wrote that. The gamecube didn't "get third parties". It sure had considerably more than N64, but still missed on the most important 3rd party games of the gen. And check the market context first: The gamecube released when ps2 had already established itself. From there won, it was impossible to gain enough ground.

A nintendo system that gets fair treatment from third parties would force sony and ms out after one generation or 2 because it would have nintendo exclusives + 99% of the competitors library.


Yes the gamecube got almost all segnificant third parties, it was nintendos most exposed console to third parties since the n64, so it should have immideatly dominate according to OP? But it didnt
