 except nothing was illegal here. The judge was allowed to give Snipes the maximun sentenced allow, and so he did. The punishment was lawful. As BenKenobi88 said, it depends case to case where someone might get the minimun sentence and others might get harsher sentencing and this doesn't just apply to celebrities.
