My point is that the Wii's motion controlls will not add much to jRPGs, so the reason for them going to wii is not because of its control scheme, but merely because it has the largest user base |
Most JRPGs that I have played are team based. The pointer could be used very efficiently to select group members quickly on the fly for both real time and turn based combat. More effficient menu systems can arrise out of the use of the pointer as well something similiar to secret of mana's circular menu would mean quick and fast access to a multide of actions or items depending on the pressed button for the menu.
Also waggle could be implemented similiar to Harry potter for spell casting or to give the spell a boost or to mix spells or whatever they may fancy. Other possibilities include team support similiar to the soccer game that just came out or zoning functions for AE spells or even the ability to quickly choose which 4 creatures you wish to attack with a lightening spell that can chain four times. Or waggle could intiate a simple melee attack or be used to drag your team to back or front.
There are a lot of things that waggle and the pointer can bring that would significantly enhance gameplay. You know the game you play instead of just movies and pictures which the Wii is also capable of as well just not in super high def. Imagine turn based combat that is based in real time iwth no menu pauses to slow things down but just as efficient that is what the Wii can bring and probably a bunch of other things considering I just thought htis up in all of 3.1 seconds.
