I could have told you that. Sega stopped caring about what the fans wanted awhile ago, it's pretty clear to see. That's why they're sitting on a treasure trove of classic IP's, doing absolutely nothing with them. All they do now is milk their most successful franchises for every dime they're worth (Sonic, Football Manager, Total War, Hatsune Miku).

But Football Manager & Total War (amongst others) aren't even SEGA franchises, they just bought out the studios who created the cash cows mentioned... So what exactly are SEGA doing???
