Since the N64 in 1997 i have owned every home console on the market and untill a couple of days ago the only current gen system i had was the Wii u but now that has changed because i have now purchased a white Xbox one with 7 games. These games are Ryse, Dead rising 3, Halo MCC, Sunset overdrive, Forza 5, Titanfall and Destiny.

First of all  the new operating system and layout took some getting used to  but i am becoming familiar with it and it works well. The new controller is more streamlined and the analogue sticks seem to be thinner but also sturdier than the xbox 360 controller. The installation of every game is a pain though, installing a game offline is much quicker but still takes 30 minutes or so and i have resorted to downloading these huge updates  (9.5GB update for Ryse) through the night when i am sleeping. Although i had to download it on day 2 because on the 1st day i hadn't disabled the power down feature so the console switched itself off after one hour of inactivity (Doh!).

Now on to the games, so far i have only played Halo MCC and Ryse son of rome. I got Halo MCC to play the newly remastered halo 2 anniversary and expected it took look amazing on the new hardware. However it looks the same as Halo combat evolved anniversary on xbox 360, it seems  that they have made no effort to utilise the xbox ones massive power leap over 360 so it was a little dissapointing. Ryse on the other hand looks absolutely gorgeous, it is by far the best looking game i have ever played (I don't game on pc) it just looks phenominal and is very very close to CGI quality. If this is what 900p gaming looks like then bring it on. The game itself is actually quite good i mean its quite short and not going to win any GOTY awards but it is great fun too play, the combat is easy but i still found it satisfying and overall it is alot better than i thought it would be.

I have only had the console for 3 days and my initial impressions are positive and i can't wait to play some of my other games like sunset overdrive and the upcoming Witcher 3 when it releases next month.
