You really can't see why it's redudant to release on both ps3 and ps4? It's the same audience. "The PlayStation fanbase is the number 1 place for console JRPG's. Period. It has been that way since the PS1 and it will never change as long as Final Fantasy, Tales, Persona, wharever... favors the PlayStation brand." That's probably one of the most wrong and contradictory things I've read. you said the playstation fanbase was number 1 for jrpg and then you said that it's because of support. Let me tell you one thing, it's easy to sell more of anything when said thing isn't released much elsewhere. The ps home consoles got more jrpgs than it's competitors. if things had been equal, software sales would also be. It has nothing to do with ps audience. Just take a look at the shit ton of jrpgs on nintendo's handhelds. they sell because it's there. One more time: The ps fanbase isn't the number 1 place for jrpgs, they are just the ones that had access to more jrpgs in home consoles so far. |
I will start with your second paragraph. You have done nothing to disprove my claim, if anything you agreed with it. Listen, Im not arguing circumstances with you. I dont care "why" PlayStation consoles are the preferred community for console JRPG's. It could very well be just Japanese developers not giving other community a fair shot.
Ok fine, does it change PS being the number spot for console JRPG's? Noooo it doesn't.
Let us go back to being "redundant". That would be true if we equally had 80mill PS3's and PS4's and they're all owned by the same exact people. We know that is not accurate. The amout of PS3 owners in Japan vs the amount PS4 lies a humongous difference, which more than likely is driving force in alot PS3/PS4 release from japan. If you know that you have 1 million persona fans using PS products and 700k are still use the PS3 and the last 300k on PS4. For a guaranteed 1 million sales PS3/PS4 is no brainer. Cover all bases.
