The same goes for you, especially when the game only fits with your tastes as far as "doing random destruction". When you consider the staggering number of people that are completely in love with the series, coupled with it presenting arguably the more 'alive' open world to date, and it receiving very high scores (on every platform) makes sense. I don't need to agree with them to understand that. GTA has been popular for far too long to be considered a fad though. It's definitely seen a popularity boost with GTA5 (which i'd credit to the long wait, expected growth, and 3 major release cycles keeping it relevant for longer), but that doesn't make it an inherent fad. Best to wait and see how GTA6, 7, etc, do before stating definitives like that. |
Marketing is the only reason for all of that. it's like cod but not yearly.
