I don't think it has anything to do with pay to win. In order to do easy fatalities, you first has to win the fight. As for unlocking everything from the krypt, as far as I'm concerned, you don't unlocked any special moves or something that will give you an advantage in the fight, its more related to costume. I may be wrong though.
