What I like about Ori is the story it tells without spoken English words; the contrasting themes of light and dark, and death and rebirth elicit emotional feelings of angst and calmness. The game tests your abilities with the dungeons that lead to a climactic finish with the chase sequences as well. Most importantly the game does player choice and exploration better than most platform games I've played. Difficulty can be utterly brutal at times. The later enemies are challenging to take down and the spike can be frustrating. My only real complaint with the game is like you said, how it locks you out of your save. I also really enjoyed the characters and the twists that accompanied the game as well. The ending was something incredibly special and the devs should be commended for it. Hope we get a sequel too; MS should either buy the studio (giving them an incrdible platform dev), or continue to finance their games. 9.5/10 for me! Keep up the great work! |
Story is ok... But the Tree that narrates the story is an asshole.
