When reality conflicts with some people's preconceived notions, then surely there's something wrong with reality, right?

So, surprise, every single credible study made confirms that videogames contribute in no way to either violence in society or sexism. But how can that be? Surely tumblr feminists can't be wrong, can they?

But let's do a thought experiment, let's say there was indeed some data showing any type of relation between videogames and higher levels of sexism.

So what do you purpose to do about it? Ban certain kinds of games? Put an age rating to certain games? Who would decide what games to ban/censor?

What exactly is it that the new age western feminists actually propose to do if in fact games were the problem they think they are?

I would love to hear more on that front honestly.

Whether video games promote sexism in people is seperate from whether video games are rife with sexism, which can still very much be allienating and a change people want to see in the medium in order for it to grow. And the solution is quite simple imo, just call people out when their games reinforce negative stereotypes and under representation.

please elaborate. what does 'just call people out' mean exactly? moan on twitter? please do, no one's stopping you. censorship? if so, you're on the side of history of those who want to censor art. banning certain games? who makes the decision on what game to ban? what gives you or anyone the right to say what i can or can't play?

saying a videogame is rife with sexism... 'that's like your oppinion man'. feel free to not play it then and blog about it. if that's the extent you're willing to go, cool
