Oooh could I ask what software you used to check the HDD's bad sectors, I used to have some software around 3 years back but I forgot it's name and since I've done a clean boot of my PC during Jan I completely forgot the name of the software and you just reminded me that I haven't checked mine in 2 years.

HD Tune Pro (15 day trial) and SpeedFan(go to SMART and choose your HDD from a drop-down.)

Cheers, I ran the scan and found 14 bad sectors and looking at the main grid it really isn't all that bad, out of all the green squares only 3 are red.

I really want to replace the HDD anyway because it's a WD green and it's write speed is pretty slow compared to WD blue/Black models, that and the WD green is usually meant for storage instead of gaming.

I've already got my eyes set on the Samsung 840 Pro Series 128GB 2.5, but it hasn't really gone down that far in price  with some places asking for nearly £100 with PP so I might look into another model/brand.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
