It is equiped with a MT6595 processor, which as a PowerVR G6200, which is about 76.8 GFLOPS at 600mhz. The Vita maxes at about 52 Gflops. Furthermore, it has 4GB of ram, which I think more than makes up for no dedicated Vram. While the price is $97 right now, I've seen it drop as low as $75 before.

1st off MT Arm processors are not one of the best performance Processors out there, so they in fact rarely get to those listed Gflops/sec let alone sustain them.
also as for the PSVita maxing out @ 52 Gflops , You may want to do some more research
SGX 543 MP4 = 38.4 GFLOPS (triple core tho)
http://www.anandtech.com/show/6426/ipad-4-gpu-performance-analyzed-powervr-sgx-554mp4-under-the-hood
A) the Speed of the SGX543MP4+ is more than 400 MHz
B)
C) since its a 3D stacked TSV its performance index is very..very High
That Smatphone you gave as an example i doubt very much is not going to outpace the PSVita's Performance index
again:
another example is the clock rate can indeed be pushing over 533 MHz, since sony has a SGX543MP4"+" being and increase clock rate, among other things you can take also as an index:
The Exynos variant of the Samsung Galaxy S4 sports the tri-core SGX544MP3 clocked at 533 MHz.
The series x5 Power VR GPU's were and still are some of the best GPU's that give a High Performance on Mobile SOC's..still even Today. Yes there is more powerful mobile chipsets than the PSVita, but many time the Costs are still High, and Again you would d@mn sight need to be on a contract for a mobile carrier to get it for 2 year contract, and thats still way more than $70.00
