And there is my problem with the way VR is going at the moment. Everyone wants a piece of the pie, so we have 4-5 or more solutions coming down the pipeline, each one only supporting certain platforms. So to get the most out of it, a consumer would have to buy multiple headsets. I wish these VR helmets were developed to a standard so that they could be connected to any HDMI-compatible device. If a game/application supports this VR standard, you get an immersive 3D experience. If it doesn't support this VR standard, you basically get a wearable 1080p (or 1440p, or 4K) screen for playing 2D games.
I don't buy specific TVs to play specific consoles. Why should I buy a new helmet for every system I want to game on?
