| Words Of Wisdom said: Not necessarily the advice you're looking for but... I don't think your web developer skills are strong enough to make a business of it. On your home website, you've successfully forgotten to close every one of your line-breaks, added an attributes that don't exist to two a tags, and it appears that you don't understand what a doctype is. Your website is also just short of being viewable in the 800x600 resolution which is still the minimum viewing resolution to target for the widest audience. These mistakes are very obvious and they severely damage any credibility you're trying to gain from your portfolio page. If you're even making mistakes with basic HTML and CSS, why should someone trust you for anything more complex? That probably came off as really harsh and I didn't mean it to. I do wish you luck with your business. ^_^ |
Hey no problem.
1. I don't think there are that many websites out there that still force themselves to be less than 800x600, so I deliberately went slightly larger. In fact I just randomly went to 10 different big box retail chains websites and none of them fit in that resolution. Heck, vghcartz is wider than the sites I have created.
2. Most people are not like you. They won't run pages though html and css validators. I plan on targeting small business and people who literally have no idea. (i.e. the mass) Though you do make a good point that I should still ensure that it is valid based on my doctype so, I will fix that tonight.
