I hate wearing suits. I can't even wear them because I easily sweat in them. Making me wear one is extremely uncomfortable for me. This is not a mental disorder but just personal preference. I don't see why my "little inconvenience" is less valid than someone elses.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
