Lets take a trip down memory lane: Here's the thing about the original Xbox: It wasn't making any money. It bleed cash so badly and for so long that it didn't turn profitable till the end of 2004. When Xbox manufacturing ended in 2005, Microsoft lost $4 billion. Here's the thing about Xbox One: $400 Million loss for Microsoft in its first 8 months. And, I think your idea will speed up what happened in the past.
You should not assume things about people, it is the wrong way to debate, and I'm holding your words for the bold. If Microsoft decides to sell its Xbox division, who will buy it? Amazon, Samsung, Apple, Google. Most likely Samsung. |
Why? Samsung has had no interest in entering the market. And 400 million in the first 8 months? Compare that to the PS3 and Xbox 360, that's nothing. Oh and what about the PS3? It lost sony "only" 5 billion dollars, and sold around 60% of its predecessor the PS2. The Xbox One will not have a nearly as large drop, and will lose less for the company.
