What are your thoughts on steam machines and MS making their library shared across PC? Do you think this will potentially change the competitive environment? ie; I guess a more concise question would be whether you predict fewer xb1 sales after the pc sharing or greater, or the same. |
Steam Machines are extremele niche. I see no relevance in having it. One of the perks of having a gaming PC is that it can do a lot of other things with Windows.
I welcome cross-platform on XB+PC. I would like to see PS follow up with at least making PS Now on PC which i believe will eventually.
And no i dont expect fewer XB sales because of it. PC+Console has been a thing for a long while now and it doesnt really effect consoles. You can take a game like CoD that sells over 20m on home consoles that is also available on PC. Those 20m people chose consoles even though PC exists.
XB isnt so much competing with PC as they are with PS. They want the home console market (which is much more mainstream than PC), not the PC market, and theyre still making money off the PC market by releasing games on it while also promoting Windows which i fully expect games in the future to start going Win10 exclusive in which case their competitor would be steam, not PS
