In all seriousness the tech is still in its infancy. Sonys VR doesn't need to be successful. It needs to lay the groundwork and establish its base. The benefit Occulus has going for it is a much faster update interval but it might be limited to top tier PC gamers who have that kind of extra income to spend. I think Morpheus will be targeted toward the mainstream while Occulus might take on a broader role when its inevitably adopted into other mediums.

One cool concept I heard had to do with real estate - You live in Florida but want to move to, lets say, Texas. How do you demo the house without paying to fly out there? What if time is a restraint? VR. What about the people who can't save up enough to travel to exotic vacation spots? VR. What would be the best way to train someone for a space mission to Mars? VR honestly.

Some users say it isn't a Platform, but it definitely is. It's not JUST gaming we can do here. This is our pass into a digital world where anything is possible. VR might have slow adoption out the gate but there's no doubt in my mind that it will become the next big thing when the chance presents itself. I'd be surprised if we didn't see a console dedicated to VR truth be told.

I don't think there will be a VR war like the OP mentions. They will coexist because they don't actually compete against each other. The people who would buy Morpheus on PS4 would not be PC gamers anyway and would not want to invest in Occulus. On the flip side I don't see the PC people buying a PS4 just to play Morpheus. Morpheus = Mainstream, Occulus = modding, diy development, PC player demographic. The success of either is independent of the other.
