Super Robot Wars taking the top isn’t too surprising. While the series has never seen a major western release, it remains massively popular in Japan. One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 and Sword Art Online: Lost Song hold relatively strong, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3D debuts in a decent 4th place.

Quite surprising is the sharp drop of Bloodborne, that went all the way from 3rd to 11th place. This can be explained with the fact that heavily marketed games tend to encourage day one purchases followed by weaker post-launch performance. Yet, it’s worth mentioning that during its debut week the game ranked 3rd on Tsutaya’s charts, while it actually dominated the country’s retail scene, as revealed by Media Create.

Tsutaya has a more family and casual-oriented clientele compared to other major retailers like Sofmap and Yodobashi Camera, so the actual overall performance of the game might be stronger this week too. We’ll know for sure on Wednesday.

Like last week, though, PlayStation games dominated again, taking eighteen places out of twenty, with only two 3DS games managing to make the cut.
