Had Sony sold this many PS3 if PS2 hasn't been this successful.?

The PS brand means bucketloads in EU so yes definitely wont have sold as much. Also, you see alot of PS3 fans arguing that PS2 owners will more likely become PS3 owners, so they are banking on the PS brand equity alot themselves.
