Too much denial in this thread, when it's been so obvious for months now that XBox is on its way out from Microsoft. I remember not so long ago, while I still had an X360 and a Windows Phone how Microsoft moved all the WP games branding to XBox games. That was still at a time when nobody expected the XOne to bury itself under a pile of Don Mattrick's Kinect debris.
With Nadella in charge, XBox has been removed from the core consideration, main gaming franchises like Fable and Halo are getting moved onto PC and mobile, Gears will most likely follow suit next year.

I doubt that they intend to sell XBox, as the console without its main IPs is basically worthless, carrying more negativity than goodwill, and any potential buyer would be just better off starting from scratch. I see XBox going more the way of Zune, a device that never managed to have a decent market share, just like XBox now is just an afterthought in any store outside of US. I always said that the brand is dying, and the console will probably be discontinued by 2017. If Nintendo lays their cards right, they can attract most third parties to NX, giving them a secondary outlet besides PS4, and nobody in the gaming world would shed a tear for XBox, it will be forgotten quickly.
Halo and Gears fans would still play those games on Windows, so they would miss XBox either.

Slowly, but surely, the mandatory Kinect/always online/physical disc DRM/IP region locking/cable box passthrough experiment is coming to claim its toll. It is only ironic that in the end Zynga will live longer than XBox.

Keep it civil. I've been attacked enough times in this thread, don't go back after them, though I appreciate your support.
