Would you buy a 9th or a 9.5th gen console???

? PC gamers play today with a larger difference between the low end and the high end, and they do just fine. 

Indeed I do, especially against those using their outdated tech to play against me.  This is why I prefer console gaming; even though it is to my 'disadvantage', standardized hardware makes it a fairer environment for all.
