I say unlikely. Its not appearing at E3 for a reason and they went out of their way to say that they won't give it a release date whereas it would have been much smarter to just say spring/summer 2016, unless of course they had no idea whether it would actually meet that date.
To me its a fall 2016 title and they know this, but they're not going to announce that this far in advance because announcing a year long delay is a terrible idea.
Nintendo are also very strategic in their releases, so even if it was done for August they wouldn't release it then unless they had a similarly big holiday title.
