I'd say the game that got the most undeserved hate was Resident Evil 6. It was an extremely good game, with some few missteps here and there, and a more lacking Mercenaries Mode than its previous incarnations but an awesome game nonetheless. The most refined gameplay from the whole franchise I'd say, coupled with a lot of good fanservice here and there. I never understood why people praised Leon's campaign so much but hated the other three campaigns, especially when the middle part of Leon's is very weak. Chris', for example, has a very weak beginning, but it picks up the pace perfectly and Jake's campaign was never something else than experimental ground with a new character that (I hope) Capcom won't force on us much more... then there's Ada, that ties up the few holes here and there.

Regarding Resident Evil 5, I agree that's another one who gets too much undeserved hate. My favourite from the saga, actually. I've clocked so many hours in it either on the campaign, the extra content or on Mercenaries Mode that I don't know how much I rank in it.
